How to Make a Duct Tape Picture Frame

Show off your pictures with style with a creative, homemade picture frame!

Directions

Step 1

Make two double-sided strips that are each 3-3/4 inches long:

·         Cut a strip of duct tape to the recommended length for the project.

·         Lay it sticky side up on your work surface.

·         Cut another strip of the same length. Place it sticky side down, directly on the first strip, matching up all edges.

Step 10

Flip the picture frame over. Center the picture, face down, over the frame’s window. Cut two 9-inch strips. Use them to tape the picture onto the frame on the long sides.

Step 11

·         Add magnetic strips to make a refrigerator or locker magnet;

·         Decorate with stickers, buttons or markers;

·         Attach a string to the back for a hanging picture;

·         Make a standing picture frame by taping a piece of cardboard onto the back;

·         Create a puzzle for your best friend using school photos.

Step 2

Duck® brand duct tape

Scissors

Ruler

Picture to frame

Optional: colored duct tape, stickers, string, decorative buttons and magnet strips

Step 4

Make two double-sided strips that are each 9-1/2 inches long.

Step 5

Form the picture frame with the strips by placing the short pieces in between the long side pieces.

Step 6

Cut four 1-inch long strips. Use them to tape the frame together where the long and short pieces meet.

Step 7

Flip the picture frame over. Cut two strips of duct tape, each 9 inches long.

Step 8

Place one strip directly over the short side of the frame. Fold extra tape onto the back.

Step 9

Repeat Step 6 on the opposite short side.

No offence, but who would really want a duck tape frame, especially one that doesn't stand up on it's own? If you're going to make one, you might as well give it a cardboard stand.

I like this project! Simple, fun, and everyone who comes over to my house loves them! The only thing I would suggest is to add a little stand for the back in the steps. =]

this looks pretty kewl. oh! and @kaitlin, it doesnt have to have a stand. i guess you could add one if you want but if not, you add magnetic strips to it and hang it on a fridge or in a locker

Its an AWESOME idea for quick, displays...it you needs one to stand up make a back cover and incorporate the little extending triangle stand that allows it to stand by itself. ( Sometimes it helps thinking out side the box to make ideas work with more functions.)

This is great one thing i did to improve it was make duck tape fabric just a little bit bigger than the picture and taped it to the back but left the top open so you can slide pics in and out of it. You should put more ducktivities up.

oh my god!!! did you guys like not read the instrustions or something?!?! it seems like it you all say that they should put in the in strustions how to make a card board stand!!! THEY DID IDIOTS!!!

its to floppy and t would b way better if u used a cardboard or wood frame to cover

you don't need a stand you could just hang it up!

Yah know there might be some out there that will take what ya make because you made it and there not gunna care if it does or doesnt have a cardboard stand up, but anyway its awesome

i think this is a great easy and quick idea. first off, you can put a magnet on the back for either, your fridge, or even a locker. or you can put a lean it on something,so stop thinking that everything is a bad idea. its all duck tape you have to give them some credit.

I can't wait to make this and I love to hang pictures but never can find picture frams I like so now I can make my own
