Duct Tape Shark Hat

Ducktivity provided by MallardTape

This is the second duct tape hat that I've made (also see "Duct Tape Squid Hat"). This hat took me a few hours to make, but it was definitely worth it. Some people may find it difficult to make, so it isn't recommended for beginners. This project is more on the border between medium and hard difficulty. When you put the hat on, the tail points upward and the jaws go around your head.

  • Cardboard
  • Duct Tape

Directions

Step 1

Step 1

Get a large cereal box and cut it so that it unfolds into a large rectangular shape. Cut off all extra flaps. This should leave you with a large rectangle with straight edges.

Step 2

Fold the rectangle into a cone and use duct tape to keep it in place. Make sure it fits on your head.

Step 3

Cover the cone with the duct tape color of your choice and cut off all excess duct tape. Cut the cone so that there are two long points on the bottom where your head will go (these will be the jaws). Make duct tape sheets by taping the sticky sides of pieces of duct tape together and then taping those pieces together. Cut out the fins and teeth from the duct tape sheets and tape them onto the cone where you want them.

Step 4

Add details, such as gills and eyes. Hooray, you're done!
