How to Make a Duct Tape Rose Pen

Jazz up your boring writing utensil with Duck Tape® rose top! Choose your favorite colors or prints to create a single color, patterned or rainbow effect.

Supplies and Tools

Duck Tape® brand duct tape (red
green) Pen

Directions

Step 1

Take your pen and cover it in tape (lengthwise works the best). This step is completed best if you roll the pen across the tape, sticky-side up.

Step 2

To make your petals, cut several strips of 2-inch long duct tape squares.

Step 3

Fold one edge over itself sticky side up, leaving some stickiness exposed on the side and bottom.

Step 4

Take the other edge and fold it over, leaving only stickiness on the bottom of the strip.

Step 5

Wrap the petal tightly around the top of the stem.

Step 6

Repeating Steps 2-5 with additional strips of duct tape, wrapping the petals around the top. Continue until you've reached the desired size.

Step 7

For the leaves under the base of the rose, repeat Steps 2 - 4 with the same color that you used for the stem. Wrap these pieces around the stem at the base of the flower to cover up the tape edge.

This is a good way to make a rose, but I wish i learned how to make the pedals round instead of the point. Otherwise one of the best things I have ever made!

Super Awesome... Every year at my family reunion some of the cousins exchange duck tape things. This year I was asked to create the thingsfor my side of the exchange. This was one of my many ideas for on my list. THANK YOU FOR EVER INVENTING DUCK TAPE BECAUSE I'M BEING PAID $25 AND BECAUSE DUCK TAPE ROCKS!
