How to Make a Rounded Petal Duck Tape Rose

This is not your average Duck Tape rose! Create a realistic rose with rounded petals and leaves with this advanced Ducktivity.

Supplies and Tools

Duck Tape® brand duct tape (red
green) Floral wire Scissors To be used as the stem: dowel rod
pipe cleaner
pen or floral sire

Directions

Step 1

Cover your stem with a strip of green Duck Tape. Do this by laying out a strip of green tape on a flat surface, sticky-side up, and rolling your stem (whatever material you are using) onto it lengthwise.

Step 2

To make the center of the rose, tear off a piece of 3-inch long Duck Tape. Fold down the top about 1/4” and then fold the top left corner. Wrap this around the top of your stem.

Step 3

To make the inner petals, cut two 2-inch by 2-inch red Duck Tape squares. Place one square on top of the other, leaving 1/4” of the sticky part showing on the bottom. Cut off the excess at the top, but leave the bottom alone. Using scissors, round off the top edge. You will want to make about four of these.

Step 4

Wrap the four inner petals tightly around the top of the stem.

Step 5

To make the outer petals, cut two 2-inch by 2-inch Duck Tape squares. Cut one piece of floral wire 2” long and place it in the middle of the square. Place one square on top of the other, leaving 1/4” of the sticky part showing on the bottom. Cut off the excess at the top but leave the bottom alone. Using scissors round off the top edge. Make about 15 of these.

Step 6

Wrap the outer petals around the top of the stem. Don't wrap them as tightly as the inner petals. Bend the tips of the petals down a little to the desired shape.

Step 7

Cut four 1-inch by 1-inch squares of Duck Tape (the same color as the stem). Wrap these around the base of the rose.

Step 8

Cut one 5-inch long strip of Duck Tape. Place a piece of floral wire at the bottom-middle of the strip. Fold the top of the strip down over the wire, leaving about 1/4” of the sticky part at the bottom showing. Using scissors, cut out a leaf shape. Make 2 of these.

Step 9

Wrap your leaves around the stem.

This Looks really Hard and and 1 hour to make thats Longer than the regular roses wow this is a waste of time and it seems like it's really hard i Mean i would like to make one but it's To complicated

Theese are really cool! I like theese ones better then the pointy kind. Theese flowers seem more realistic then the others! (And they use less petals!)

I tried to make one of these from a book i bought called "just duct tape it!" And it not turn out the best. you could still tell that it is a flower but mine looks nothing like what they show in the picture which is ok because i still love duct tape!
