How to Tape Corners for Painting
Taping corners can be difficult, but these simple steps will make the process quick and easy.
Taping corners before beginning your paint project can be difficult. Follow these steps to make the process easier and get the best results.
Step One: Run the first piece of tape along the trim of one wall, and extend up the perpendicular wall with the tape.
Step Two: Secure the tape firmly to the baseboard with a putty knife or a 5-in-1 tool.
Step Three: Cut along the crease with a sharp utility knife, removing the extra tape from the wall.
Step Four: Now you’re ready to tape the adjacent baseboard – the corner is already protected by the first piece of tape, so just be sure to start about .5 in. away from the wall.
Now you’re ready to start painting.
